Y/N's POV

My eyes slowly opened and adjusted to the light. I looked around at my new surroundings. Where was I? How long have I been here?

My memory felt fuzzy, thinking about what happened.

"She's awake!" A familiar voice cried out, his voice cracked as he yelled. James.

"Jamie?" I said, my voice cracked from unuse.

His arms wrapped around me and I felt a grin grow on my face. I could see the tracings of tears on his face. His eyes were red and swollen. I'd never seen him so distressed.

I pulled back from the hug to push his glasses back on his nose, looking into his eyes for a second before the other marauders came over and tackled me into a hug. There were kind words said, they were all extremely happy to see me awake.

"Guys, I'm fin-" I let out a groan of pain, my head was aching.

Ok, maybe not quite so fine.

Madam Motika came walking in and shooed the boys off. She began to give me some medicine, which tasted disgusting but it worked. She explained how James had been here for the whole time I was unconscious. The others had come in and out, (to sleep and eat) but James had never left my side. Thankfully, Dumbledore had given them all time off while I was unconscious.

It left a strange sensation in my stomach.

I should ask if it's a side effect of the medicine perhaps?

After the medicine, I felt a lot better, and she said I could leave.

"You know what today is?" James asked, grinning.

"James, I don't even know how long I was unconscious for, let alone what today is," I said.

"You were out for 8 days, and it's Quidditch Tryouts today!"

I completely forgot about the Quidditch Tryouts. Although I think being hexed by someone who figured out what I am is a pretty good excuse for forgetting.

I had also forgotten about the promise I had made at the end of the second year. I'd always liked Quidditch, but I'd never tried out for the team. I loved watching James play Quidditch. He had got into the team in our first year, and he was a great Chaser. He told me to try out for Seeker since the old one left last year.

We made out way to the Quidditch Pitch, and let me tell you, it was cold. Like freezing.

The captain of the team, Nathaniel Green, a blonde-haired boy, who I think is in his 7th year, explained to use how the tryouts would work. We would start by playing a couple of mock games of Quidditch and everyone would get a turn to play the position they wanted to try out for.

I was nervous, to say the least. Sirius, Remus, and Peter were sitting in the stands, watching and cheering me on.

As I mounted my broom I looked over to them and waved.

"3, 2, 1 GO!" The balls flew into the air and we started playing.

I zoomed around on my broom looking for the little winged, golden ball. Still no sign of the snitch though.

Then, after a few more minutes of searching, I saw it out of my eye. I went after it going as fast as I could. The other girl going out for snitch was named Lexie Kay. She saw that I was after the snitch and got on my tail, riding fast, slowly catching up to me.

I knew that she was faster than me and if I didn't do something she would catch up and get the snitch. So, I did the next best thing.

I got close enough to the snitch and when it started speeding downwards I whipped my legs around the broom and let go with my arms, hanging off the side of my broomstick. I reached my arm down and grabbed the little ball.

Lexie looked annoyed, but slightly in awe.

We went back to the ground and we were told that the results would be put up on the board by dinner. I gulped and walked over to go join James, who was chatting with the others.

Sirius ruffled my hair.

"You've gotta teach me that, Freckles!"

I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"Sure," I said.

"He's putting it up," Peter mumbled.

I walked over to the board and scanned it for my name.

There it was.

'Seeker = Y/N Lupin'

I yelled in happiness, smiling brightly.

"Congratulations!" Remus said and wrapped me in a tight hug.

"The first game is this weekend, you'll do great!" James said, ecstatic for me.

"I hope so," I mumbled, still grinning.

Gryffindor's first Quidditch match rolled around and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. We had been practicing every day for the past week, but that didn't mean I still wasn't super nervous.

I put on my Quidditch gear and grabbed my broomstick, heading down to the field.

Sirius was doing the commentary today and she was looking forward to it, he always made it more interesting.

"Alright, folks! Today is Gryffindor Vs. Ravenclaw, who will win? Let's see who's on each team! Gryffindor includes our two beaters: Arthur Browne and John Bell, our Chasers: Marlene Mckinnon, Geoffrey Fawley and the world's best, and my best friend, the prankster himself, James Potter! Our Keeper, another great friend of mine and extrao-" The line went quiet for a second before the crowd heard a muffled, "Yes professor I'll keep to the point."

I chuckled and looked to the stands to see Remus shaking his head laughing.

"Our Keeper is Sirius Black and Gryffindor's newest Seeker, and another best friend of mine, the one and only: Y/N Lupin!" Peter exclaimed enthuiastically over the microphone.

He read the rest of Ravenclaw's team members in a monotone voice and I couldn't help but laugh.

"On your marks, get set, GO!"

I flew around trying to find the snitch. Ravenclaw's Seeker was Lily Chang, and she was really good.

After 10 or so minutes Gryffindor was losing 30 - 0. But none of that would matter if I could just find the snitch.

Then, I saw the golden flutter of wings and I dashed towards it, the cold wind going against my face. The smell of pine from the forbidden forest had wafted over here. I saw the snitch begin to fly downwards and I dived towards it, flying faster than I ever had.

My fist closed around something cold and metal, and I held my hand up in triumph.

I had caught the snitch.

Gryffindor had won.

The crowd cheered for me as I flew towards the ground

The sea of red and gold sweaters and scarves flooded the grounds, hugging myself and my teammates.

One of the older kids called for a party in the Gryffindor Common Room and just as I was about to call out to say I'd be there before receiving a tug on my shoulder.

"Y/N," Remus said quietly.

"Tonight is a full moon, we should go now, we need to take the potion." He said as quietly as he could.

I nodded and told the boys we had to go.

"Ugh it never tastes better," I said, downing the last of it. The sun was beginning to set so we would need to make our way to the shrieking shack.

I hated these days. It was terrifying we never knew what would happen, whether we would hurt someone. Or each other. The potion made it enough that we could recognize who we were, but there was always that voice in the back of my head that said "What if?"
